Description

Fluconazole is mainly prescribed for:Vaginal yeast infection (vaginal candidiasis): Usually a single 150 mg dose is enough for most women .Oral thrush (mouth/throat infection): Typically 50–100 mg once daily for 7–14 days, or longer if needed Esophageal candidiasis (yeast infection of the food pipe): Often 100–200 mg once daily for at least 3 weeks, and sometimes longer after symptoms improve .Cryptococcal meningitis (a serious fungal brain infection): Higher doses (e.g., 400 mg on day 1, then 200–400 mg daily) for several weeks or months Prevention of fungal infections: In people with weak immunity (e.g., after bone marrow transplant or in advanced HIV), it may be taken regularly to prevent candidiasis
